A Feeling We Couldn’t Ignore
It started as a completely ordinary drive.
The kids were laughing in the back seat.
Snacks were scattered everywhere.
Music played softly through the speakers.
We were heading to my parents’ house for what should have been a normal family visit.
Nothing felt unusual.
At least not at first.
Then I glanced over at my husband.
His face had gone pale.
His eyes were fixed on the road ahead.
“Turn the car around,” he whispered.
I thought I had misheard him.
“What?”
“Turn around. Right now.”
There was something in his voice I had never heard before.
Not panic.
Not fear.
Certainty.
I asked him what was wrong.
He couldn’t explain it.
He only asked me to trust him.
And for some reason, I did.
That decision would end up changing our lives forever.
Because deep down, he knew something wasn’t right.
